The launch of manhole cleaning robot by the Kochi Municipal Corporation as part of the Genrobotics project to eliminate manual entry into the manholes for cleaning was held in the city. The project was implemented by c- hed with the support of Cochin Shipyard Ltd , Genrobotics Innovations Private Limited, Kerala Water Authority.
The environment day celebration and the launch of ‘Clean Campus Heal Campus’ initiative was held as part of this year’s World Environment day. The project was launched as part of the ‘Youkan Heal’ initiative of Kochi Municipal Corporation, in collaboration with various colleges of the city with an aim to maintain the colleges campus in the city clean in a sustainable way. The launch event was held at Maharajas College campus and was coordinated by c-hed.
The Hospital resilience project aims to develop the hospital resilience assessment framework and criteria to support the health infrastructure in Kochi Municipal Corporation- primary health centres and community health centres including government and private hospitals.
A team from German Development Cooperation (GIZ) and c-hed visited various hospitals in and around the city to understand the hospital’s ability to effectively respond to, recover from, and continue providing uninterrupted access and services before, during, and after disasters or extreme events.

We are really proud to have successfully completed the pilot phase of the ‘Sustainable Neighborhood Project’. The project was inaugurated by the Hon’ble German Ambassador to India His Excellency Dr. Philip Ackerman and was presided by the Hon’ble Mayor Adv. M. Anilkumar.
At this juncture, we would like to thank our project partners Fraunhofer Institute, University of Stuttgart and National Institute of Urban Affairs.
Three electric goods autos were handed over to the Samrudhi initiative of the Kochi Municipal Corporation under the Ecologistics project of ICLEI South Asia.
