The city of Kochi, well known for its rich heritage and pluralistic culture, has been influenced by various cultures and nationalities, leaving their impressions in the fields of architecture, arts, crafts, cultural and heritage institutions. As part of making Kochi the hub of Kerala’s arts and culture, the Kochi Municipal Corporation and the District Administration are jointly organizing public venues for street performances, public performances, cultural debates, musical events, percussion music events, street
performances, dance performances, classical art form performances, dramas, kadhaprasangam, duff muttu, chavittu nadakam and fusion events under the name ‘Arts Space Kochi (ASK)’ which is being coordinated by the Centre for Heritage, Environment and Development (c-hed). As part of this initiative, art programs will be conducted at suitable venues within the city every month. Below are the venues that are being prepared initially for these art performances.

1) Cultural Corner at Jose Junction prepared under CSML and owned by KMRL
2) Chathyath walkway
3) Koithara park area
4) Fort Kochi Vasco da Gama Square
5) Marine Drive walkway
6) Palluruthy Veli ground
7) Vytilla
8) Palarivattom


The initiative is aimed to propagate and make Kochi as the Centre of Arts and to develop the interest among people in the field of arts and culture. This initiative will help us to support and encourage the artists and also helps them to find venues and opportunities for performance within the city.
